Under the Public Health and Family Welfare initiative, READ supported Fatima Majki (23), a migrant pregnant woman residing in Kalampalayam Meridian Hostel settlement in Tiruppur District. She was in her ninth month of pregnancy and suffering from anemia due to inadequate nutrition. Her husband, Ashok Mal (24), works as a migrant laborer, and the family had limited access to proper healthcare and nutritious food.

During a survey and labor welfare meeting, READ identified her condition and provided free health mix powder to improve her nutritional intake. Awareness was also created about maternal health and the importance of a balanced diet during pregnancy.

Her expected delivery date is 29 April 2026, and the nutritional support is helping improve her strength and hemoglobin levels. Fatima and her husband expressed gratitude, stating that the support came at a crucial time.

Similar assistance was extended to 28 other migrant pregnant women, ensuring safer and healthier pregnancies.
